Pipebursting

Pipebursting

Pipebursting is the only way to replace an existing pipe with an identical or larger one while minimizing excavation. It saves money, time and it’s environmentally friendly.

A winch pulls the pipebursting head with the new pipe attached through the old line. Debris from the old pipe remains in the ground as a stabilizer. The soil absorbs vibrations from the pneumatic heads so that nearby utilities aren’t disturbed.

Pipebursting is an efficient way to replace water, gas, sewer and production lines without disturbing the ground above.

Pipebursting pros:

  • Allows upsizing or size-for-size replacement
  • Costs a fraction of other methods
  • Accommodates a wide variety of replacement materials
  • Is safer and less traumatic to the surrounding area
