Pneumatic Pipebursting

About this Video

Pneumatic pipebursting utilizes a winch that guides an air compressor-powered hammer. As the hammer bursts through the existing pipe, a constant-tension hydrostatic winch prevents the hammer from recoiling. A rear body expander follows the hammer, breaking the existing pipe and pushing its debris into the soil. The new pipe is attached to the expander, replacing it as the pneumatic hammer moves through the line.
